About our Village
Azoia, (Click here to see Map) our Village, is on the Atlantic side of the Sintra hills, about 1 km from Cabo da Roca, Europe's most western point. Although still a peasant farming village, there are a number of excellent restaurants famous for their Seafood, several Cafes and Bars and a very basic General-Store. Local produce is sold several times a week and there are busy Market stalls at weekends.
The Sintra hills have an abundance of Castles, Monasteries and Palaces to explore and wonderful walks have surprises around every corner.
A Train takes you from from Sintra or Cascais into Lisbon where a Tram takes you around the 18th century centre and then up to the old Arab quarter to St. Georges Castle. For Nightlife the newly developed Dock area is a must and so are the traditional 'Fado' places in the Bairo Alto.
